Pauw, Anatomieprofessor in Leiden und Begründer der dortigen berühmten Anatomie, war Schüler des Fabricius. Er gehörte zu den wichtigsten Lehrern in der Nachfolge Vesals. - "A follower of Vesalius, he edited an edition of the 'Epitome' in 1616 and made a number of important contributions to carniology and osteology. Perhaps the first osteological work to be published in the Netherlands, this volume on the skeletal system contains several fine folding plates of the skeleton and skull" (Heirs of Hippocrates³ 401). - Ohne die meist fehlenden Bll.am Ende mit Widmungsvers und Errata (siehe Krivatsy). - Titel mit hinterlegtem Einriss, oberer Rand fleckig und mit Papierverstärkung (hs.
