Die Schrift enthält eine für die damalige Zeit ganz vortreffliche geognostische Beschreibung des Landes mit einer großen Karte, auf welcher durch verschiedene Farben die hauptsächlichsten Gesteine unterschieden und die einzelnen Lager durch Zeichen kenntlich gemacht sind" (ADB IV, 106). The Mineralogische Geographie gives an excellent description of the veins and other mineral occurrences of Saxony and some of the adjacent areas, and in the last few pages of the book the question of the probable origin of the ores is discussed. Contemporary boards. Edges and corners somewhat scuffed. Foxed throughout and with occasional dampstaining, title page strentgthened at fold and slightly creased, frontispiece mounted.
