Außerdem leitete er den geheimen Briefwechsel der Kaiserin Elisabeth mit Ludwig XV und hielt sich seit 1762 in London als Geheimkorrespondent des franz. The transvestite, diplomat and spy Charles-Genevieve Louis-Auguste d'Eon de Beaumont (1728-1810) had one of the most extraordinary careers of the 18th century. Dressed as a woman he gained the confidence of Tsarina Catharina in 1755.
