David. Bd. 1-2 (von 8) in 2 Bdn. Paris, David, 1787-88. 4to (26,5:20,5 cm). Mit 1 (statt 2) gest. Titel u. 192 Kupfertafeln. 2 (st. 3) Bll., IV, 258; 176 S. (ohne das 1. Bl.). Ldr. d. Zt. mit Vergoldung u. je 2 farb. Rsch. (Leicht berieben, 1 Kapital mit kl. Ausbruch).
Brunet II, 536 (unter David); nicht bei Cohen-R. u. Monglond. - Reich illustriertes Galeriewerk, die vorliegenden beiden ersten Bände enthalten die "Pierres antiques" (Gemmen). - Stellenw. leicht stockfleckig, 1 Taf. in Bd. 2 mit kl. Randeinriss. Fehlt der gest. Titel zu Bd. 1, der zu Bd. 2 vor den Tafeln eingebunden. Beide Bde. wie häufig ohne Vortitel. - Richly illustrated gallery work. Volumes 1 and 2 (of 8). With 1 (of 2) engraved titles and 192 copper plates. Contemporary leather, slightly rubbed, 1 crown with small damage. Lacking 1 sheet and both half-titles. Partly slightly foxing, 1 plate with small tear.
