Die hübschen Vignetten zeigen die monatstypischen Tätigkeiten. - Leicht gebräunt, gering fleckig, am Schluss wenige Bll. mit Wasserfleck unten im Bug, S. 155/156 mit rep. Randeinriss. Im Seitenrand fast durchgehend Wurmgang (anfangs ausgefüllt). Ohne die beiden w. Bll. Vord. freies Vorsatz mit Provenienzvermerken in Tinte: Exemplar aus der Sammlung des venezianischen Bibliophilen Maffeo Pinelli (1736-1785), gekauft von J. Monro, vord. Innendeckel mit Bleistiftnotiz des 20. Jh. mit Angabe der Versteigerungsdaten 1789/90 bzw. 1830. - Scarce first edition. With woodcut arms of the dedicatee Pope Clement VIII on title, and 12 small woodcut headpieces depicting the occupations of the month. - Slight browning, minor staining, dampstaining to lower fold towards rear; small wormhole to side margin almost throughout (infilled at beginning), small rep. marginal tear to K6. Lacking the 2 blanks. Bound in 17th/18th century vellum, esp. spine darkened, spine-label chipped. Copy from the Pinelli sale bought by John Munro (inscriptions to front free endpaper).
