Zweite Basler Ausg., die sechste insgesamt, erschien erstmals 1588. - Das große Kräuterbuch enthält den umfangreichsten Rezeptkatalog seiner Zeit u. ist mit reichen Pflanzendarst. nach Fuchs u. Mattioli illustr. "Dieses deutsche Kräuterbuch... verzeichnet vor allem die europäische Flora. Allerdings fanden bereits Heilpflanzen aus Amerika und Afrika Aufnahme, soweit sie in Europa verwendet wurden" (Isphording). - Tls. leicht fleckig, Kupfertitel mit Quetschfalte, vord. Vors. erneuert, hint. Vors. mit hs. Eintr., St.a.T. - With broad figural title border and ca. 2,500 woodcuts in text. - Slightly spotted in places, copper title with crease, front endpaper renewed, back endpaper with inscription in manuscript. endpapers with inscription.
