Interesting 'Whaling' document. These patches of discolored water are frequented by vast swarms of the minute animals upon which the great 'Right Whale' of commerce (Balaena mysticetus) alone subsists. The fact is well known to the whalers and accordingly the 'black water' is eagerly sought for by them. - Gefaltet, etw. fleckig u. gebräunt, Falzeinrisse.
