ADB XLI, 687ff. - Erste Gesamtausgabe. - Enthält neben seinen wichtigen Schriften zur bayrischen und augsburgischen Geschichte u. a. auch die Edition der Peuttingerschen Tafeln mit einer Kupferstich-Wiedergabe in 14 (13 doppelblattgr.) Textkupfern. Die übrigen Textkupf. zeigen Altertümer, Münzen, Inschriften etc.; die beiden großen Karten Venezuela u. Süddeutschland mit angrenzenden Gebieten der Schweiz, Österreichs u. Norditaliens. - Ex. ohne d. gest., ganzs. Portr. (wohl nicht in allen Ex. eingedruckt) von Welser. Die fehlenden S. 241-244 liegen in Kopie bei. - Nur leicht gebräunt u. etw. stockfl., sonst sauber u. ordentlich. Vors. mit Randausschnitt u. hs. Eintrag. - Engr. frontisp., 2 double size copper maps, 50 (14 double size, some leaf-size) text coppers, 16 engr. vignettes and 2 engr. initials. - First complete edition. Apart from his most important works on the Bavarian and Augsburg history it also contains a.o. the edition of the "Peutingersche plates" in 14 (13 double size) copper engravings in the text. The remaining text copper engr. show antiques, coins, lapidary inscriptions,... The 2 large maps show Venezuela and Southern Germany with bordering areas of Switzerland, Austria and North Italy. "The American interest lies in the Vita of the author which includes an account of his family, the merchant house of Welser. Under authority from Charles V. they gouverned Venezuela for their own profit from 1528-1555" (Sabin). - Without the full size portrait and the pages 241-244 are missing.
