Die schlechte Versorgung der Verwundeten war für ihn Anlass zu diesem Bericht, der rasch Erfolg hatte. - Dunants erschütternder Bericht über die Schlacht bei Solferino führte zur Gründung des Roten Kreuzes und zur Genfer Konvention vom 22. 8. 1864. Er erhielt 1901 als erster den Friedensnobelpreis. - Anfangs tlw. stockfl., ansonsten gutes Ex. - RED CROSS. Sm.4to. With 1 double-page size engr. and col. plan. 2 ll., 115 pp. Modern halfcloth (Rubbed). - - First edition, never offered for retail). - An account Dunant's about the battle of Solferino, which he eye-witnessed. The poor care for the wounded caused him to write this report, which was a fast success. - His account led to the founding of the "Red Cross" and the Geneva Convention 1864. 1901 he was the first to win the Peace Nobelprice. - Initially some foxing, otherwise nice copy.
