With col. engr. title, col. copper plates and num. text coppers. 4 ll., 227 (of 229, without pp. 3-4) pp., 1 white l. Contemporary parchment (browned, some stains, heads and joints partly repaired, new endpaper). - Compare VD 17 12:655201B (different collation: here wrong pagination: pp. 192 - 229; i.e. 193 - 230). Td 13/14 (other ed.). - Very rare later German edition (first 1615, 1616) of this important fencing book, that was published first 1606 in Kopenhagen in Italian. Our copy probably a variant or published shortly after 1650, here with correct pagination. Signaturformel: 2, A-Z4, Aa-Gg4 (Gg4 w.). - Missing pp. 3-4 (B2). Engraved title dusty and slightly frayed margins. The copperplate with tear and small torn corner, repaired. Initial 3 ll. with taped tears, pp. 115-116 torn. Up to p. 8 with taped marginal tears, lower margins partly fingerstained. 2 coppers partly colored. P. 175 partly blotchy. some coppers with point-shaped white spots in the print.
