Czech S. 126. - A very fine work of Africana recording travel and sport in Algeria, Somaliland, the Sahara and Abyssinia (Ethiopia). The author traveled and hunted through Africa from 1892 onward. The set is illustrated with photographs taken by Alfred Pease as well as sketches. It is further illustrated by studies by Sir Edmond Loder (after whom the Loder gazelle is named) and Edward North Buxton (who wrote "Short Stalks" etc). The volumes are based on a 10 years of travel in Africa. Volume I deals with Algeria and Somaliland. Volume II has more on Somaliland and then Algeria again. Volume III deals with Abyssinia and Somaliland. The volumes are oversized and large, the production is magnificent and they belong in the Parthenon of Africana together with Harris, Potocki and a very few select others. A truly scarce set. Breitrandiges Ex., Blattränder tls. leicht gebräunt, einige Taf. mit schwachem Wasserrand. Abbildung siehe Tafelseiten
