Tafelränder tls. etw. angestaubt u. minimal randrissig. Leicht wellig. N.a.Vors. - Jonston (1603-1675) was a Polish physician of Scottish extraction. This work is one of the earliest to be devoted to trees and is divided into ten books each dealing with a class of tree - fruit-bearing, nut-bearing, aromatic, acorn-bearing, resinous, conifers, pod-bearing, roses and flowering trees, two miscellaneous classes. He includes heaths, succulents and cacti. As with Jonston's encyclopaedic work on zoology, this is regarded more as a compilation than as an original publication.
