Brunet IV, 509. Graesse V, 206. - Tafelband des wichtigen biographischen Werks. Der Band enthält 80 der 104 Portraits, darunter das oft fehlende Portrait von L. Thomassin im seltenen ersten Zustand von 1696. Mit Portraits von A. Godeau, P. Seguier, J. B. Colbert, P. Masson, P. Pelisson, A. Rossignol, R. Descartes (nach F. Hals), J. B. P. Moliere, J. F. Sarrasin, V. Voiture, F. de Malherbe, C. Perrault, P. Gassendi, N. Poussin, C. le Brun, J. Callot, C. de la Porte, J. de Solleysel, F. Pithou, J. Scaliger, A. de Valois, D. Blondel u.v.a. Die Portraits von Nicolas le Fevre und Ismael Bouillaud liegen jeweils in späteren Abzügen nochmal bei. - Rücken alt restauriert, Deckel angestaubt bestoßen und etwas berieben, die Tafeln im Rand etwas braunfleckig, insgesamt gut erhalten.
