"A translation of Nicol's Lapidary (1652), the first english work on precious stones, which (probably for the mystic elements which it contains) proved highly popular, and was translated into several European languages" (Stoheran). - Deutsche Erstausgabe, die F. nicht besaß u. als sehr selten bezeichnet. Ubersetzer ist der bekannte Alchemist Lange. - Papierbedingt gebräunt, etwas braun- und fingerfleckig. Titel mit ausgeschnittenem hs. Besitzvermerk. Innengelenk meist offen.
