Mit Eulenaugen und Ibisschnabel sowie am oberen Ende mit Mondsichel (leicht beschädigt). Verwendet beim Initiationsritus für junge Männer. Ca. 202 x 40 x 30 cm. Sehr kunstvoll, mit Gebrauchssp.
Prov: Sammlung Dr. Nerlich in München. Lit. Katalog "Das zweite Gesicht" 1997 Abb.85. - Monumental board mask Nwantantay of the Bwaba (BWA). Artfully whitewashed with geometric and zoomorphic forms and symbols, as well as remains of polychrome paint. With owl eyes and ibis beak as well as a crescent moon at the upper end (slightly damaged). Used in the initiation rite for young men. With traces of use.
