The German theologian Conrad Vorstius (1569-1622) as an Arminian got involved in the Dutch theological struggles: called to Leiden in 1610 as a successor to Arminius, he was shortly afterwards dismissed, and finally at the Synod of Dordt condemned as a heretic. The last 10 years of his life he remained in hiding in Holland, and is said to have openly professed Socinianism. The Commentarius is his last, posthumous work and contains the author's lectures originally held at the Steinfurth Gymnasium between 1600 and 1611. The edition was based on a college dictate with the author's marginal notes. - Durchgehend wasserrandig u. etw. wurmstichig (tls. Buchstabenverlust).
