Ozanam (1640-1717) war ein berühmter und äußerst talentierter Mathematiker, der es in einer Vielzahl von Publikationen verstand, angewandte Mathematik verständlich und beinahe populär zu machen. Seit 1701 war er Mitglied der Academie des Sciences und zahlreiche Wissenschaftler und Gelehrte (u.a. auch Leibniz) schätzten ihn außerordentlich. - Erläuterung von Problemen aus der Arithmetik, der Geometrie, Optik, Gnomonik, Kosmographie, Mechanik, Pyrotechnik und der Physik. Das Supplement über Uhren trägt den Titel "Traite des Horloges elementaires..." - In Bd. 1 fehlen die S. 1/2.
