Einzige Ausgabe, selten. - Der Streit um die Fossilien am Monte Bolca führte zwischen 1793 und 1795 zu einem Disput zwischen Alberto Fortis, Giovanni Serafino Volta und dem römischen Abt Domenico Testa, der deutlich machte, wie weit verbreitet die Diluvialhypothese noch unter Laien war. Die Titelvignette zeigt einen Vulkan und verstreute tote Fische an seinem Fuß. - Tls. etw. stockfl. - Sole edition, rare. Between 1793 and 1795, the quarrel over the fossils at Monte Bolca generated a dispute between Alberto Fortis, Giovanni Serafino Volta and the Roman abbot Domenico Testa that highlighted how widespread the diluvial hypothesis was still widespread among non-experts.
