Here with the equally infamous work on the nymphomaniac Messalina. The "Lucerna", a lamp talking to the author, tells the story of her previous incarnations as a bear, a dog, an ant, Cleopatra and several other "more or less respectable ladies". - Francesco Pona (1594-1652) war Arzt und zugleich Dichter und wurde 1651 von Kaiser Ferdinand III. zum Historiographen ernannt (vgl. Jöcher III, 1681). - Etw. gebräunt u. stockfl. Durchgeh. knapp beschnitten.
