Atlas. Augsburg um 1740. 53,5 x 32 cm. Mit gestochenem Widmungsblatt und 40 doppelblattgr. kolorierten Kupferkarten (statt 50?) sowie 5 zusätzlichen Karten anderer Verleger. - 2 Bll. Text mit Inhaltsverzeichnis (für 50 Karten). Flexibler Lederband der Zeit. (Stärk. läd. u. mit Fehlst.)
Neben den vier Kontinenten Europa, Asien, Afrika und Nord- und Südamerika enthält der Atlas Gesamt- und Teilkarten von Spanien und Portugal, Italien, Griechenland, Benelux, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Deutschland, Alpenländer, Skandinavien, Polen, Ungarn, Böhmen und Russischem Reich. Wie meist mit figürl. oder heraldischen Schmuckkartuschen, vereinz. mit kl. Insets mit Stadtplänen und -ansichten. - Fehlt wohl ein gestochenes od. typogr. Titelblatt. Textbll., Widmungsbl. und 6 Karten gelöst, die 5 Extrakarten ebenfalls lose beiliegend. Ränder tlw. unterschiedlich (stock-)fleckig bzw. ca. 11 Karten mit Braunfleck im Seitenrand, Mittelfalte überwieg. mit meist kl. Einriß, die Europakarte etw. stärker fleckig, die Amerika-Karte unten mit mehreren Randeinrissen. Insgesamt ordentliches Exemplar. - Seutter's atlas, mostly with maps of European countries. Limp contemp. calf. 53.5 : 32 cm. With engraved dedication sheet and 40 double-page colored copper maps (of 50?) and 5 additional maps by other publishers. 2 leaves text with table of content (for 50 maps). - Presumably lacking one engraved or typographic title leaf, dedication leaf and 6 maps loosened, the 5 extra maps also loosely attached. Margins with different degrees of (fox-) staining and ca. 11 maps with brownish stains in side margin, centerfold with mostly small splits, map of Europe with stronger staining, map of America with several marginal splits at bottom. All in all fine copy. Binding with traces of use.
