Enthält: 34 St. aus den Jahren 1840-67, 2 St. 1889-92, 4 St. 1756,92,97 u. 7 St. 1815-1829, wenige ohne Datum; dazu ein Gevatterbrief von 1865 sowie 3 leere Umschläge. Zus. 55 Teile. - Tls. Alters- u. Gebrauchssp. - Collection of 51 baptism certificates, Germany 1756-1892. Mostly mid-19th century: 1840-67 (34 pieces); 1889-92 (2 pieces); 1756/92/97 (4 pieces); 1815-1829 (7 pieces). This most interesting collection mostly contained in highly decorative envelopes, showing a wide variety of printing techniques (engraving, lithography, woodcut and woodengraving, chromolithography, relief printing, gilt and silver printing) and intricate embellishments (various applications of fabrics and coloured papers, handcolouring and colour printing, embossed printing). The letter inside mainly with printed text and free space for completion by handwritten felicitations. These leaves were quite often adorned with religious images and sometimes printed on fancy papers. The older baptism certificates in this collection (before 1820) are ingeniously folded broadsides. A nice collection of religious folk art ephemera printing.
