Vinograd, Amsterdam 2536. - The five books of the Torah with Rash"i's commentary, and with the haphtarot, prayers and poems for the Sabbath according to the Ashkenazic rite. Compiled by Gavriel Falk. Amsterdam. 1827. Five volumes: [l], 7, 91, [l], 15, 32, 10: [2], 86, 20, 32, 28: [2], 56, 18, 32, 30: [2], 70, 12, 32, 8, [6]: [2], 66, 11, 32, 9 leaves. 18.5 cm. A beautiful set of the five books of the Torah. Each volume has a separate copper-engraved title page, with illustrations of the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, Moses and Aaron and Jerusalem and the Temple, signed by the artist. Includes three additional title pages for each volume: first title page, title page for the haphtarot and a title page for the prayers. At the end of each volume are additional prayers related to that particular volume. At the beginning of the first volume are many approbations by Dutch rabbis. With six leaves listing subscribers in dozens of Dutch communities and their Rabbis. A complete set, including the corrections leaf added to the final part and the subscribers pages which are not found in all copies.
