Die King James Bible in der bibliophilen Ausgabe der Nonesuch Press mit den Illustrationen von Stephen Gooden (1892-1955). - Eines der 1000 Ex. auf Japan-Papier (GA. 1075) bzw. 1250 Ex. der Apocrypha . - Die 1920 von Francis Meynell gegründete Nonesuch Press übte einen nachhaltigen Einfluss auf das kommerzielle Buchdesign in England aus. - One of 1000 numbered copies on Japan vellum out of a total edition of 1075; the Apocrypha as one out of 1250 copies. The copperplates have been designed and engraved by Stephen Gooden (1892-1955). Press book edition of the famous King James Version of the Holy Bible of 1611. The Nonesuch Press, named for the Tudor palace of Nonesuch, was founded in 1920 by Francis Meynell. Nonesuch did not print its own books, but sought "to be a mobiliser of others' resources". The five-volume Bible was printed beginning in 1924, with The Apocrypha, volume four, being printed first. - Rotes Maroquinexlibris von Margot Holmes.
