Vgl. Poggend. II, 1096 u. Honeyman 2975. Nicht b. Houzeau/L. - Selten. - Gleichzeitig erschien in Ffm. u. Lpz. eine Variante dieses Werkes, betitelt - Mercurii Philosophici firmamentum firmianum descriptionem et usum globi artificialis coelestis - (mit kl. Abw. in d. Kollation). 1731 wurde es - wieder mit etwas verändertem Titel - noch einmal gedruckt. - Der Verf. war Benediktiner u. Prof. für Mathematik an d. Univ. Salzburg. Das Werk enthält eine Abhandlung über die Astronomie, den Gebrauch der Globen u. der astronom. Instrumente. Die sehr schönen Kupfer zeigen in kräftigen Abdrucken Himmelsgloben, Windrosen, den Sternenhimmel, vor allem aber zahlr. Karten mit den Sternbildern. - Es fehlt wohl das gest. Frontisp. und (oder) eine gest. Falttabelle. Titelbl. aufgezogen mit Fehlst. oben mit etw. Textverl. Anfangs einige Bl. knittrig u. 1 Bl. Abriß geklebt. Gelockert u. tls. in Gel. verstärkt; etw. gebräunt, fleckig u. wasserrandig. Ca. 35 Tafeln anfangs mit hs. Erklärungen a. Rand u. in d. Darst., ca. 20 Tafeln mit zusätzlichen Einzeichnungen in Tinte oder Bleistift. Einige Bl. mit Randläs. Wenige Margin. a. Rand, Besitzverm. a.d. Titel u. St. a. T. u.a. Rand. - With 83 (1 fold., 1 double page size) col. copper plates. 1 l., 212 pp. Simpe modern leather (a little warped, slightly rubbed). - Compare: Poggend. II, 1096 u. Honeyman 2975. Not at Houzeau/L. - Rare. - The engr. frontisp. and/or an engr. folding table probably missing, missing. Title leaf mounted with loss of paper and a little text in the upper half. First leaves creased, one tear taped. Loose and partly inforced in the joints, some browning, stains and waterstains. Appr. 35 tables in front with hw. explanations in the margins and the image, appr. 20 plates with additional drawings in the image in ink or pencil. Some ll. with damage to the margins. Few marginalia in the margins, owner`s note on title, stamp on title and margin.
