Gr.-Folio. 201 S., [1] Bl.; 213 S., [2] Bll. Lose Doppelbogen in Original-Umschlägen in grünen Original-Halbleinwanddecken und Schubern. (Minimal berieben und bestossen).
Monod 11340 - Garvey 281. - Eines von 50 nummerierten Exemplaren (GA 250) auf Vélin Arches, Titelei der Extra-Suite vom Künstler nummeriert und signiert. - Radierungen gedruckt bei Jacques Frélaut. - "After Vollard had seen the illustrations for "La treille muscate", he wished Segonzac to do another series for Colette, but the artist persuaded him to plan a Virgil (...) The artist brought the book out himself. His landscape has a classical, pastoral quality whose freshness is due to the immediacy of execution" (Garvey 281). - Band I und II stockfleckig in den Rändern (Band I teils etwas stärker und stellenweise innerhalb der Darstellungen), ansonsten schönes Exemplar. - One of 50 numbered copies, title of extra suite signed and numbered by the artist. 3 volumes. With 119 etchings as well as extra suite with 119 etchings. Loose sheets in original wrappers, half cloth cover and slipcase (slightly rubbed and bumped). First two volumes with foxing, otherwise good copy.
