Nissen 21. Pritzel 112. Hunt 211. Erste Ausgabe. - Alpino verfaßte das Werk über die exotischen Pflanzen in seiner Zeit als Direktor des Botanischen Gartens in Padua. "The plants described were grown from seeds sent to Alpini from many distant places. One of the most interesting plates is an early representation of the 'Hyosciamus Virginianus' which H. Bartlett identifies as an American Oenothera of the sub-genus Onagra" (Hunt). - Anfangs mehrf. gestempelt und im Bug wasserrandig, sonst nur stellenw. wenig fleckig. - First edition with 145 full-page engravings. - At the beginning with multiple unsightly stamps, some waterstains at joint, otherwise minimally soiled here and there. - Cardboard around 1800 (heavily scratched and scuffed).
