Doppelblatt mit Teil der 6. Sure in andalusischem Maghribi in farbiger Sepia auf Pergament. 14 Zeilen Text auf jeder Seite. Vokalisierung in blau und rot. Andalusien, 13./14. Jhdt. Textbereich 140 x 155 mm, Doppelblattgr. 380 x 180 mm.
Nach der christlichen Rückeroberung Spaniens wurden nahezu alle Korane vernichtet. Wenige gelangten durch muslimische Flüchtlinge nach Nord-Afrika und wurden so gerettet. Komplette Exemplare aus der Zeit sind heute unauffindbar. - Die Ecken mit Ausbrüchen, etwas feuchtfleckig u. gebräunt. - Written in the characteristic style of dainty Andalusian-Maghribi with sepia coloured ink on vellum with 14 text lines on each page. The verse separations are marked with rosettes in gold. The large marginal medallion in red and gold with the word score 'Five' in meaning of Khamsa. Vocalisation in blue and red. Measures: Text area: 140 x 155 mm, sheet size: 380 x 180 mm. Andalusia, 13th/14th century. Condition: With small, torn off corner, minimum spots and tiny wormholes. - After the Christian reconquest of Spain almost all the Qur'ans there were destroyed. The few surviving copies were brought by Muslim refugees to North Africa and could thus be saved.
