Lowndes IV, 2225. Brunet V, 237. - The second printing of the so-called "Abbotsford edition" (cf. Lowndes IV, p. 2225), the steel engravings dated "1852". - Bookplates of Thomas W. Nelson. - Throughout slightly fox-stained. The last four volumes occasionally water-stained, vol. XII stronger. Fly-leafs in vol. XII missing, but altogether still a very attractive set. - With numerous steel-engraved plates and woodcut illustrations in text. 12 volumes. Red half-morocco, gilt decoration and edges, five raised bands (covers slightly stained by damp).
