No place. 28. Ramadan 1110 A.H. = 30.III.1699 A.D. 227:123 mm. 155 le. with unwan in gold and colours. Contemporary half leather with little gilt. - 17 lines, elegant Nasta'liq-characteristics, black with sporadic accentuations in red, edging lines in gold and black, at the beginning with pretty ornamental pieces in gold and colours. - The moral of the benefactors, one of the most famous Persian works to ethics. "The author was born at Sabzawar, and lived at Herat during the reign of Abû al-Ghâzî Sultân Husayn. He became famous as a preacher and a prose writer, and enjoyed the special favor of Mîr `Alî Shîr. He died in Herat in 910 A. H. (1504 A. D.)" (Simsar, Oriental Mss. of the J. F. Lewis Coll., S. 70). - Throughout with strong waterstains (at the end increasing) and with repairs (mostly at margin), throughout with slight signs of dampness, many partly restored worm casts, the first pages with ink spots at the upper margin.
