Du Breul verwechselt den Verfasser der Gesta Francorum (S. 13-381) noch mit Aimoinus von St. Germain des Präs, der der Verfasser des angehängten "De inventione" ist. Etwa die 2. Hälfte des Bandes nimmt die ╔Chronik von Monte Cassini╗ ein. - Leicht gebräunt, tls. stockfl. - ╔Gold-stamped arms of George Carew, Earl of Totnes (1555-1629)╗ - The arms of George Carew, Earl of Totnes, stamped and painted on the covers. Carew was a soldier and administrator in Ireland, participating in the suppression of the Ulster rebellion led by Hugh O'Neill, Earl of Tyrone in 1601, and becoming Lord President of Munster. He was also a friend of Sir Walter Raleigh, and pleaded unsuccessfully for the latter's life with James I. (cf. Wikipedia).
