Seltene, noch frühe Übersetzung dieser Kirchengeschichte. - Hanmer (1543-1604) first came to public notice as a writer, producing in 1581 two semi-official responses to Campion's famous challenge. In 1577 he published The Ancient Ecclesiastical Histories, which sought to provide a detailed account of the first six centuries of Christian history by translating near contemporary sources, most notably Eusebius's Ecclesiastical History. - Tit. u.
