Here, the eminent Swiss natural history scientist and philosopher Charles Bonnet (1720-1793) signed his name on the title page, crossing out the "Secundus" in the line "Tomus Secundus" and substituted it with a handwritten "Primus". The original gatherings of the volumes have been left as they were, apparently, Bonnet received his set in this state and didn`t bother any further about irrevelant title page for the first volume. - Without 7 supplementary plates. - Marcello Malpighi (1628-94), Italian physician and anatomist, was professor of physic as Pisa, Bologna, and Messina, and was physician to Pope Innocent XII.
