Marie Stopes first confronted the issue of birth control in her famous Married Love. The response she received prompted her to found The Mothers' Clinic at 61 Marlborough Road, Holloway (London, N. 19) in 1921 and then to write this more widely available book. The last two plates illustrate ten birth control devices available at the time - all designed for use by the female.
