Very rare. - Vieussens, the celebrated neurologist, was also greatly interested in fermentation. This pamphlet started a famous and violent controversy between him and Pierre Chirac, as they both claimed to have extracted acidic salt from the blood, an erroneous idea, which nevertheless much occupied the contemporary medical world.
